About Us

How it all began…

The farm shop idea was born whilst sailing on the idyllic warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. Passengers Chris and Linda, celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary onboard, were tucked up in bed one evening (no rude comments please!) whilst docked in Barbados. At the time Linda was working in a well-known high-street retail store, but she knew her real calling was elsewhere. Being familiar with the South Norfolk area, she knew there would be demand for a farm shop in Hethersett…and that’s just the beginning…

We are based on a working farm, and after discussions with the local farmer, the old grain store was converted to become our Church Farm Shop (the original features of the store are still present in our attic space).

Initially we started small when our doors opened in 2008 – stocking the typical needs such as eggs, milk, bread and veggies. Fast forward 13 years, and we have expanded our range immensely having our hands in many pots, such as gardening products, confectionery and firewood.

We have Linda (mother) and Jake (son) captaining the family business, with Chris (father), Wayne (son) and Bethany (Jake’s wife) assisting during seasonal periods. Like most families in business – our plans and work discussions normally happen round the dinner table!

We’re proud of how our business has expanded in the years we’ve been trading, but we’ve always remained true to our key values…

"stocking the freshest produce and finest products"

"always guaranteeing excellent customer service and service with a smile"

"supporting as many other local businesses as possible"
